• Engine arrived

I had mentioned here before that I was doing the LS1 swap. Well the engine arrived at the shop this afternoon. Dealing with TransAmCreations was awesome. Brent is very helpful, and friendly. I got the 98 LS1 with the T56 tranny and 71,000 mi for $4020.00 after shipping. I spent an extra $200 for all the rubber tubing, NGK plugs, Taylor wires, Mobile 1 oil, oil filter, and a new optima battery.

I have also already bought a new exhaust, MTI clear whisper lid, and just now bought a Pro 5.0 shifter.I can't wait to get behind the wheel when it's all done

that is for the ls1 crate motor then, thats about right. ls6 is just a couple hundred more than the ls1 in the crate.

price out 98 wiring harness, and tranny... lots more money.

                  really?

The ones i have seen, have the wiring, for a conversion, but not for a specific vehicle.

Where do you get one with the 98 f-car wiring harness?

Yes, you do need the ls1 radiator, and cluster (not required but nice to have), and wireing harness. That ALL was included in the price I mentioned. As well as the fuel pump, but the lines are not needed to be changed from a 98 to 98 swap. Any other years they are. Also, all the wiring harness are compatible and require no other changes in wiring, just plug in.

But I thought the 98 LS1's have the regulator built into the tank? Where as the 98 3.8 have the regulator on the line

I had thought that at first as well, but was told differently. They said all I needed was the additional fuel pump that was sold with the package.

If it is different once this is started, I will be sure and post about it.
