I was considering getting GTP internals dor my procharger project, but after doing some more research, I have found that it probably would be better to get forged pistons instead. I found some forged pistons at http://intense-racing.com/ for about the same price it would cost me to get GTP internals. Does anyone know if these pistons are any good?

i didn't look at the link but i know you can get Ross forged pistons through ammperormance might want to check those prices too. good luck with the buildup sounds awsome

Well, i think that they must be good because intense is running them in their project car. A turbo 3800 in a GTP. It ran 11.6 its first time at the track with 15 pounds of boost. They are running the 8.0 pistons.

MrCoffee, those headers are only for FWD 3800's!
camaro_speedemon, the only problem is any piston made for an L67 will not work with L36 connecting rods. You would need to get L67 connecting rods as well, but they are stronger.

I recently had Manley make a set of forged aluminum rods for my 3.4L V6 and I am working with another board member on getting some rods made for the 3.8L.

I was thinking, what If I got the stock rods for the L67 and had them cryo-treated, I was doing some research and it seems to be fairly good at strengthening metal. I'm trying to rebuild my engine budget friendly, do you this would be a good alternative? I want to be able to run at least 15 or 16 lbs boost during track runs. Yes, they are top quality. And the intense car just got through running an 11.176@125.01 ;) They run the 8.0:1 pistons because they are pushing 18psi of boost. However they broke 1 motor mount and cracked the other. So it might have had more in it.

if you want aluminum rods, call my dad, Abbott Racing Heads, 432-558-2841, he is a dealer on Groden Rods which i think is the best aluminum rod on the market and when u order them, they dont have rods on the shelf, you give them all the specs and they build however many rods you want, they make REALLY nice rods, they are proven to be stronger, lighter, and last longer than the Manley aluminum rods...

What are some of the specs for those rods.
