My rods are rated at 750 HP @ 7500 RPMs. My max horsepower won't be close to this and I don't think anyone else's on this board will be either. You won't have to worry too much about alumiunm rods breaking when you are using around half of their potential.

aluminum work hardens though so u do too have to worry...the Manleys probably will be good enough but if the Grodens are a little lighter thats just a little more power to be had but im sure you'll be ok...Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Try to find out the weight of the Groden rods. My Manley rods are 491 grams each and they are the bulkiest of their aluminum rods. The ultralights are listed at 445 grams. My rods were listed at 531 grams in the catalog and were 491 grams when I received them. If this holds true for the untralights, they should run around the 410 gram area when finished.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

they would have to make them to know the grams, they dont carry rods on the shelf and if they do its not many and definately not for a 3.4...they also have a lightweight and heavy duty rod, if i remember right the rods my dad has some lightweight Grodens for a BBC that are 6.353 in length and they wieghed 495-530 grams, his heavyweight rods are the same length and weighed like 570 grams...ill find out later to confirm if these are right...Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Check the weight of a SBC (small journal) rod with center-to-center length of 5.7". These were the rods used in 1967 and older SBC engines and they are the same as the 3.4 rods with little modifications. If you can get the weight from those, then we will know what the weight of the 3.4L rods is.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

i talked to my dad and he said the Grodens are more like Manleys Super 70 rod, their high dollar rod, he sold some of the heavy weight 6" small block rods the other day and he didnt remember exactly but he thinks it weighed around 520-540 grams and the lightweight version weighs around 430 grams, he wasnt sure about the 5.7...and the rod he has in his 509 BBC is a 6.353 heavyweight version that weighed 611 grams and the lightweight version is a little longer and weighed 540 grams...Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Yeah, the Super 70's are the ones that I got. I am very impressed by them and should have the engine back together REAL soon to let people know how they perform.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance
