From what I hear, it seems like the GT cam is the way to go for both N/A and nitrous/blower? I'm looking into getting a cam also.

That "GT" cam is a COMP cam..

The nice thing about those cams are they are 4x4 lobes, really fast ramps but low lift.. good for stock heads.

Any cam really isn't great for both NA and a blower. One may be great for NA and ok for a blower, or great for a blower and ok for NA.

210/210 112ls is a nice sized cam, but you could go with the next size up in the .506 lift for a little better performance.

I really liked my 212/212 112 cam.. .520 lift, just on the edge of safe for stock heads. You should be ok with them though

The VS cam was designed on L67 heads, which flow worse than ours, because of the injector bosses in the heads. GT cam specs are 210/210, .507/.507, and 112 LS. VS cam specs are 206/216, .504/.504, and 115 LS. I think slacker's cam is a good cam for our cars, but do u have ported heads on ur car slacker? I'd say, 210/220, at least .510/.510 lift, and 113-114 will be a decent cam for our cars. it won't be making psycho numbers up top, but you'll feel it. Also, malloynx, sometimes cam's can't be measure by SOTP. ppl think they lose low-end when they put on exhaust systems, but in reality, the curve is smoother so it just FEELS less. perhaps that's what happened w/ ur VS cam. Did u dyno it b4 and after?

i hate all this VS GT whatever crap.. lets speak in duration #'s.

The injector boss is in the intake. If that affected the flow #'s by any REAL amount (which it doesn't, only very miniscule)... you would want to favor the intake which the 206/216 115 cam does not.

Stock heads, a symmetrical pattern works well... There is no real need to favor exhaust at all on an NA application unless you really want to run stock manifolds, with a cat, and a stock muffler. Who runs that though? Seriousely.

On a ported head setup, with headers and open y-pipe, a good intake favor might work really well, say 218/212 112.

BTW. lobe lift on the "vs" cam is .512/.507

oh and trapping at 93mph with a cam sucks... i got more n/a power, but not what i'm looking for

I have the ZZP GT cam 'cept with 111LS(an early version) and its great.

The 200/206 cam will certainly pass emissions and require no tuning. And I'm guessing you'd see ~15-20 rwhp gain with it.

Is that the cam itself in the video i am hearing, or is the video with all you have in your sig like heads and all. Soundz baddazz.

What do you guys think of a custom grind Lunati? heres a quick link. im not as much as a gear head as u guys but here ya go.

                  http://www.lunaticams.com/Camshafts/Buick196.html

So, im down with 2 options. I know Springs are going to be a must, but what else for a 56K mile firebird? The GT CompCam and the Lunati? I should be be able to get the Lunati custom, and you see the page.

I'm with Magnus on this, but I still believe a slight exhaust favoring is never a bad thing on a n/a or supercharged car, it won't affect it like intake duration, lift, timing, etc.

As far as cam specs go, I also believe in lower lift values to maintain flow velocity for how well our heads flow stock for a given lift.

Emissions is critical to how stoich the system runs under load, if its stoich and the PCM doesn't go nuts - emissions will be fine

The specs on the cam's i got were from ZZP today. oh, sumthin I 4got 2 mention b4, make sure ur ignition is upgraded if you run w/ more overlap, because it'll make sure all the low rpm air/fuel mixture is burned b4 it goes flying out the exhaust, and wil help emissions if you are having problems w/ it already.

My gas milage was basically the same. I lost maybe 1 mpg HW and city.
