• Walbro In tank Questions ASAP

Getting my walbro installed today. I have read all the posts I could find about it and just want to make sure 100%!

    I have the Camaro 5.7L 1994-2002 255 LPH *pump#GSS307 from http://www.jdsperformance.com

This being the correct pump, I read that it is ok to ditch the plastic housing entirely and clamp the pump to the fuel arm?

This is the information I told the shop installing it but wanted to make sure there are no other real complications he should have installing it once he gets rid of the plastic housing because he is doing it right now!

There were 3 lines going into the plastic housing will all those hook up just fine without the housing? (feed line, return fuel line, vapor line is that correct?)

Many people ditch the plastic housing.

I re-used mine. In 99+ applications it would be hard to re-use it.

Just make sure the pump sits low enough or you'll always have a few gallons of fuel the pump may never reach.

Thanks for the info and the quick reply Leave it to me to do things last minute before AIS!

SO clamping it towards the bottom of the fuel arm where the stock pump was may fall a little short because it is a little shorter pump than stock is correct?

      I'll let them know!

It might fall short, I'm not really sure.. They might be able to extend it.

It's REALLY hard to describe fuel pump installation.. It's just one of those things you have to have in front of you to understand.

Hard for pictures to do it justice as well.. easy to get confused.

i didnt reuse my stock fuel pump box, i just used a tie strap to tie the walbro to the bracket its pretty low, will my car be messed up if its not quite low enough? does it have to be below the bracket or just at the bottom?

We ditched the plastic housing and I drove 100+ miles yesterday part of which was kinda low on gas so I don't think strapping it to the arm hurt anything!
