Porting cylinder heads

What are the pros and cons of doing this?

Pros = more power.... cons = kinda expensive if you aren't doing it yourself.

pros: more power/torque, broader powerband, higher detonation threshold/less chance of detonation

cons: time consuming process, cost, quality of port job

Dose anybody have an rough idea on the hp and torque gains at the rear

probably not too substantial on a stock car...but they will help out alot more on a heavily modified car

If you put a cam in with ported heads you will not have wasted you time.

i picked up about 60-70hp from porting my heads, a cam, and LT headers, its WAY worth the time and money....
