i have a 3.8L 97 and saw the video of slacker69's cam (210/220 .535/.547 113 ) and am wondering what the numbers mean and what is involved in a cam swap with this particular cam, such as what else needs to be changed. Im new to the cam and if i cant do it myself how much would a cam swap cost?

Search this forum...there are hundereds of other topics that talk about this. I would not put that cam in unless I upgraded the entire valvetrain. also, that much lift needs ported heads. i'd get my entire drivetrain from intense racing, except the cam. get that cam, get the oil-restricted lifters, lightweight pushrods, stick w/ the stock ratio rockers, titanium retainers, high lift valvesprings, and stage 3 cylinder heads.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Sup man my cam is really strong but there are alot of things you need to buy with the cam like a full gasket set and New high lift Springs and Retainers and Pushrods. As well as some head work like some port and polishing and valve job. I did mine myself. So i cut that cost. Install is a pain i would not attempt it if you have never done anything like that.
