Heres the deal. I belong to a few camaro forums and most ppl are bone heads and help with very little info. And most just rag cause it isn't a V8. Not realizing I don't want a V8. Or to do a swap, or to pay the price for one.
I believe my question to be simple. (might not be)What other engine options do I have other than a V8 for my 94 camaro. This car is hot looking...I mean really sweet, but my engine is on its way out. 125K miles. So I was think of just getting a new or rebuilt engine(Jaspers)
I was wondering what will bolt upto my tranny and not require a conmplete harness change. I don't mind buying a new computer but dont want to re-wire the whole car. Will a 95 3800 gen II or standard 3.8 work? Or should I just buy a really built 3.4?
Some one even suggest maybe getting a 4.3 and doing some rewireing. Jaspers sell all of these engines with many different option. And is it possible to shoot for 220-240 hp with good torque?
Lastly when buying a rebuilt performance engine what should I look for in the way of 1) set-up 2) performance parts 3)what specs should I concern myself with to assure it's for "performance"?
I am no mechanic and don't trust my old one, "he ripped me off"
So I was hoping to know what to look for.
Now, I have read even futher into the forum topics and got a shiver. Hmmmm will the LT1 Bolt up to my current 94 tranny??? This would be nice I thought it had the bolt up bell housing but different internals, therefore they don't work togather.
