• cam swap almost done. update!!! she's running

i'm about 90% done with the install. i spent a total of 11 hours so far. all i need to do is the valve covers, alternator, tb and intake, connect the icm and sparkplug wires, and pray she starts..

the zzp cam came out and in went a comp custom grind..

i have new valvesprings and retainer, but i'm going to wait till i get headers to do those.

i know this motor very well now.. i just hope she runs..

i feel like i forgot to do something. i lined up all the dots and put all the connectors back on, so we'll see..

if you have any questions about a cam swap, let me know, this is my 2nd time doing this.

well i got everything done today. i got real nervous cause the car would start run then die. it did this like 6 times. so i rechecked all my sensor added more coolant and she fired up. i let here idle for about 30mins with the heat on full blast..

all in all i like that cam.. i got tons more power off the line, my midrange feels about the same as the old cam, maybe i'm getting knock or something..

but i will never ever be doing another cam install.. 2 is enough.

A SPECIAL THANKS GOES OUT TO DOMINIC FOR HELPING WITH THE INSTALL!!

glad to see you got it up and running. I agree 1 cam is plenty hard but 2 is over wellming. Good luck with the tuning. Let us all know how it goes.

                    Ok,

I have a question. I recently decided to rebuild my 3.4 and was going 30 over with matching pistons. I will keep the comp ratio the same "stock". I am not sure what cam to get. What other things internally, can I do for performance while I have the engine apart?
