  • FOR NA CAMS

its best to have the intake and exhaust duration the same right???

    such as 210/210 ??

but how would that work if you eventually put a supercharger or turbo on?

It really depends... if you have stock manifolds and a stock exhaust than you may want to favor the exhaust a little.

Typically I'd say symmetrical pattern, but if your car's a good breather you may actually want to favor the intake.

If you get an SC or a turbo, you should really change your cam. A NA cam won't do gret at all on a blown application. Nor will a blower cam do well on an NA applicaiton.

      thanks for that input magnus.

yea.. my car will be breathing very Nicely when its all finished. im talking headers, and 3 inch all the way. highflow cat n all. as well as the SLP CAI.

so favoring the intake would be better huh?

what would you recommend? i wish to keep the heads stock. as well as the springs and retainers and whatnot.

is something like, 212/210 better for my car with the mods listed above?

the idea is to keep flow velocity up, yet get as much air crammed in as possible. lift depends on head flow, duration depends on displacement, lobe separation depends on where u want the power to be made at, and intake centerline depends on the shape of powerband u want.

Is a duration of 212/218 and 110 lobe seperation gonna be good with my engine rebuild?

That will be the cam specs im gonna have.
Tom at supersix motorsports said it will rock my car and give me lots of low and top end power.

Ok , I mostly see people with their cam specs being the exhaust duration favoring , example like lets say 210 intake , 212 exhaust , but every ones cam I have looked at the exhaust duration was higher then the intake duration. Dont ask me why but thats what I have seen. Can Some one explain this?

                i wish i could.

magnus has a good point tho. for NA, favor the intake. letting more air come in. if you have a good breathing car, which i do, the exhaust will come out faster and easier so you wont have much of a worry.

i just want to be 10000% sure before i go ordering a cam for my car.

i feel like i have a new car with new found power.. the car pulls really hard through all te gears. the is a big improvement over the VS cam. i love it. i'm going to hit the dyno and track next week..

i need to hook up the atap and see how the o2's and timing are looking..

I'M VERY PLEASE WITH THE POWER especially off te line.. that 112lsa really wakes the car up.
