• Ordered new cam today :)

after searching i finally found a great cam, with a sound clip.

Price was $310.79
xtreme energy 4x4
216 Intake Duration, 216 Exhaust Duration, 112 Lobe Sep. Angle, 108 Intake Centerline. 507 lift on both valves.

All i need now is to replace my valvetrain, should i get parts from zzperformance; like the valve springs/retainers? And i also need new lifters correct? Comp wanted $130 for new lifters but i was like wow expensive, used ls1 will work correct?

Do you plan on getting some tuning with that?

of course, i can't install that untill i get new headers anyways. i don't like my jet chip, and i don't live far from Texas-Speed and performance pcm tuning.

I just ordered new suspension from tybrne, hotchkis stb/sfc and new transmission mount.

Cam install will take a while, i can't afford all at once, need a spec clutch 3 cuz i plan on nitrous.

Where did you get the cam from?

Looks almost like the ZZP GT2 cam, with the exception of LSA and IC.

You don't really need to get new pushrods and lifters, but it never hurts to be on the safe side. Springs and Retainers are a very good idea, so as to avoid any valve float.

directly from www.compcams.com it is a custom grind cam. you have to call them to order.

edit: yeah i wanted to order the GT2 cam, i was going to untill i found the sound clip from AZ3.8 Camaro, it sounded awesome for a v6.

With the tighter LSA, the GT2 will lope even more.

The GT2 cam will idle a little with a little more lope than the cam you have listed. Our cam is cheaper and sitting on the shelf ready for same day shipment. We also have the valve train in stock.

i'm not zoomer but the comp blower grind on a nitrous application is doing wonderful things for a couple of members. methinks it is comp 76802.9 on ftpp.net; the specs are 210/220 .512 .512 115 LSA 111 IC

only $286. :D

Thats not gonna be a good situation with a 1.8 Rocker ;)

Thats gonna put lift up at like .576

Split duration cam wide LSA I don't know what you want to do witht he lift w/ those rockers.

hopefully he will figure that out and use normal rockers.

EDIT: that is, unless he plans on having some top-secret headwork done.

when i was searching for a camshaft, there were 4 cams i noticed. VS, GT, GT2, and 4x4 comp. . . what i understood was, the GT and GT2 were best for NA applications, and VS was for Nitrous/Boost. But AZ3.8 Camaro used the 4x4 with nitrous, and i want to use nitrous also. I don't plan on using nitrous everyday, just a few times a month. So i figured vs cam would not be best for me, and i definetly don't want to stay NA so i didn't order the GT2 cam.
