94 and hptuner?

I've searched thread after thread and I can't seem to find that ne one has adapted a hptuner to a 3.4L. I understand that most that have a 96 have used a 97 pcm. I was wondering if ne one has ne ideas or better suggestions.

no kidding, i was searching for tuning system and i've heard many are pleased with this system hav u heard of ne good ones for the 3.4l that have the same features as the hptuner?

no one makes a tuner for the 3.4... yet.. supposedly dhp was looking into making one.. though i dont htink that ever got anywhere.. i know a bunch of us want one and would be very willing to support someone that would take on the task... im pretty sure there is one place that does custom tuning for our cars, but nothing that you can adjust all the time like hp tuners...

what type of stand alone are you running? i was looking into this myself if nothing else materializes... i heard bout megasquirters and they seemed like a decent option, cause im not spending 2 grand on FAST...

im not running any stand alone system currently, however i will be running the megasquirt 1 computer then i will eventually upgrade to the megasquirt 2 chip in the future i imagine

i havnt had time to put the car under the knife yet

you just have to make sure that you know what you are doing if you do go the MS route.. its not really all that easy

yeah, i've been reading up on megasquirt and it seems that itll be rather intensive... unfortunately i dont think i have an option since the stock computer cant be programmed. plus i plan on using power adders (turbo) in teh future so when that time comes, ill be able to facilitate them. have you got your unit yet? found any comprehensive installation guides for our cars?

no i dont have mine yet, no point in having it sitting around collecting dust if i dont have time to install it

no install guides to my knowledge.. i'll be doin it all blindly (sometimes i like it that way)

yeah, im afraid ill be doing the same when that time rolls around. probably wont tackle this for at least a few months however so maybe by then something will be availible. at teh very least, megasquirters has a pretty good forum for help... good luck on your install..

Well I don't always watch the forums that close so ocastionally I do a search on here about megasquirt to see what questions are being asked.

I just wanted to inform ya'll (I know some already know) that I've been running a megasquirt on my turbo 3.4 camaro for a year. I built a MegaSquirt-I last summer and installed it. It took a couple of evenings to build and then I wired it all in one saturday. I ran fuel only for a while with the stock PCM still controlling the ignition. But I am now using a crank trigger and the megasquirt controls a ford DIS module which controls my stock GM coils. It's works nicely.

Ask away if you need any help or have questions about wiring.

Foff667 ,so you can't tune the 3.4? whY is it different than the 3.8, is it the obd1 and obd 2 difference?

The 3.4 can be tuned, but you have to burn a chip for the computer like the third gen guys do.

the 3.4 runs on OBDI. the 95 PCM is flashible and I have heard some of the 94's are too. I believe with tunercats they can take your PCM and either flash it or burn a chip depending on what is needed. fastchips also offers a chip for the 3.4
