Has anyone ever swapped a v-6 2.8/ 5spd to v-8 in the same car? The Camaro is a 1989 RS? Any suggestions or websites i can look at and get an idea on how hard this is? I would like to put a 5.7L TBI in this car to make it a sleeper IROC-Z. Thanks for your input!!!
Welcome to the board. This little idea of yours is going to take some research (search button to start) and work on your part, and then you can write a piece on it and get it put in the archives here.
But here is what I would do to make it completely painless. Find a Z-28, IROC, or any other V8 Camaro that is the same year as yours. Hell find a rearended/ rusted out one for a couple hundred bucks and make the swamp. Your donor car will have all the parts thst you don't have. Including a engine and tranny that would make a good build up. Build the tranny, and the engine as expensive as you can afford, but there is no way that you are going to have a sleeper.
