• Heads/Cam Install COMPLETE

Heads/cam swap are done. Drove it home from my mechanics house today. I didnt really get on it much I wanted to weld up the exhaust first. Ok I did a little bit one time and it felt really responsive. Let me remind you I have added SSM heads, a whimpy CROWER cam and my RKSPORT headers sense the last time I drove it. I know the power is there it feels good but I need to weld up the exhaust. I know the headers are leaking at the Y pipe so it dont feel right. I really need to get these fixed before I give you the details. I will get exhaust welded tommarow and I am going in for a DYNO on saturday. I will keep you updated.

So excited to have my car back, 4 months is a long time!

PS: Magnus, you can now add me to the aftermarket cam Owners list. Not too much of a cam to be proud of but this is what I got

CROWER REGRIND

196/196
496/496 @ 1.6 Rocker
115LS
111IC

and I am using CROWER pushrods with 7.050 length.

officially the smallest aftermarket cam. But I am happy for now until comp gets cores.

It's not how big it is - its how you use it

Great to hear it still cranks and runs - the rest can be fixed

Whoohoo, glad to hear it's running again. Mine was down almost 3 months for the motor swap so I know the feeling to get back in the thing and drive around.

I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles with the regrind. I was pleased with what Crower did for me but now I have my doubts about them. I should have thought to give you my invoice number so you could request a cam exactly like mine.

I'll probly go with a comp some day down the road when I build the other motor for gobs of boost and nitrous but the "wimpy" regrind will have to do for now. ;)

Can't wait to see your dyno numbers, I bet you dyno more than me. You have a MAFT+ to tune with?

No MAFT+ yet. I am going to get in on the AUTOtap GP that is on right now. Then at the same time end of this month or so I will get the MAFT+ to tune.

I did go out and look at my car top to bottom. I put it on jack stands and looked at the engine all over the place. Not because I dont trust my mechanic just because thats the way I am. I checked the oil coolant plugs wires everything. I am happy to say car runs good, and everything is in tact and looks very profesional. I couldnt have picked a better guy for the job. Got the exhaust hooked up. Car idles a little rougher then normal but is very very good compared to Ironman's clip I heard. I am really suprised with this cam it is making more power midrange and topend. I really did notice a difference. And best of all the car passed Emmissions today. I did throw some codes:

P113 - Intake Air temp too High
P131 - 02 Sensor
P151 - O2 Sensor

I had the computer reset right before I had the emissions done so it would pass. But I want to know how to fix the above codes. I am thinking I may need O2 sims is this correct?

I will have the car dyno'd tommarow and post results.

How many miles has it been since you changed o2s? I would bet that would take care of your problem, maybe you need a new iat sensor :(

I have never changed O2's. Car has 49k miles. IAT has been giving that code ever sense I installed my whisper lid.

If the whisper lid is anything like the slp cai where you have to plus the iat into it , did you disconnect your negative terminal before unhooking it?
