97 A4 PCM exact same as 98 A4 PCM?

I ordered the 97 HP Tuner and called TA Creations and wanna know if the 97 A4 PCM is same as the 98 PCM?

also the guy at TACreations said I need a Broadcast Code and a Service # so he can find the right PCM.

Service# is just the gm part #. Every year and every gear/tranny combo has a different one, this way you can't mix them up when they toss them into their big PCM pile. I think the pin-outs are posted in the tech database, but believe me, they are different. 98 seems to be in a world of its own, incompatible with other years.

You're going to flash yours anyway so any 97 PCM will do.

Service # for 97 is 16227797

Brand new PCM is only $119.53 from gmpartsdirect if you can't find a used one.

Service number is all you need. If for some reason you can't get it without it, post it and I'll look on my PCM for it.

Cause I only have one and it's in my car. The other one died cause there was a ton of water in there.
