I just got through installing one along with K-700 springs and Crane Locks. I was wondering between which people use this cam, what does it do to the powerband over 3000 (I havn't brough the RPMS over that yet trying to break in first). Under 3000, it seems as I've lost all of the torque but is much more comfortable to drive (No annoying power spike at 3500. Thanx for any info, I was told the combo will make power to 7000 rpm, time for a modified intake manifold

Break-in on an install like yours should consist of heat cycling the new valve springs a couple times. There isn't really anything else to it being a hydraulic roller camshaft. If you've already had the motor up to full operating temperature and back down to cool, and repeated the cycle twice or three times...you're done. Now get on it, and have some fun! Welll, I Getech'd it today...It is SLOWER than stock. Before with the stock setup it was at 16.4 today it runs low 17's !!!! I can't believe this bull****! I spent all of that fukin time doing the swap and it is slower. That is ****ing bull****. i believe the heads can be holding it back a bit, but helll, it should at least show similar times with stock, NOT slower. i would advise against this cam to anyone installing it. Either the 2.8 induction doesn't like it, or somthing else is wrong. A few on here said it was a good cam, I say they're full of ****.MODS:
3.4,Crower cam, K-motion valvesprings, Heddman Longtubes, BBK AFPR, Accel Coil, 36mm/23mm Sways, Boxed LCAs/Panhard bar, Mutant Nitrous wet kit, Mr. Gasket Cutout, 10.02 1/8 mile at 67.2 mph UNTUNNED no spray

I say your an idiot for using a gtech and actually putting faith in it. But thats just me. May want to research things and experiment a little more before you jump to conclusions. Ask a shop about the cam and other modifications that you have done to your car. I can't imagine having a higher output cam and a manifold from a small engine being a good thing.00\' firebird v6 5spd
201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq
\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"
WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

I had baseline runs with the G-tech to compare it to, It's almost a second slower comparitivly. I don't trust the G-tech, but I know it works fine for comparison reasons. I am a mechanic by trade (over 2 yrs, so I'm just a pup), i can't see how it is slower, It certainly isn't over cammed, the only thing that has changed much with the new cam is duration (lift doesn't do all that much for power). I'll be trying to resolve the issue, but all I'm saying is, don't believ what you read on here all the time, .MODS:
3.4,Crower cam, K-motion valvesprings, Heddman Longtubes, BBK AFPR, Accel Coil, 36mm/23mm Sways, Boxed LCAs/Panhard bar, Mutant Nitrous wet kit, Mr. Gasket Cutout, 10.02 1/8 mile at 67.2 mph UNTUNNED no spray

I don't believe anything I read on here lol Except from a few key guys that actually have businesses that deal with cars. MOST of the people on this board and every car board have no clue what they are talking about. Could it be that it is starving for air or somthing? I would think that the stock 2.8L manifold supported enough CFM but, I could be wrong. I wil pick up another one from the yard Tuesday and start making a custom plenum from it. I imagine the heads could be ported and would help alot, but my special circumstances prevent me from doing anything about them. We shall see I suppose (be nice if I could do some chip tuning as well.).MODS:
3.4,Crower cam, K-motion valvesprings, Heddman Longtubes, BBK AFPR, Accel Coil, 36mm/23mm Sways, Boxed LCAs/Panhard bar, Mutant Nitrous wet kit, Mr. Gasket Cutout, 10.02 1/8 mile at 67.2 mph UNTUNNED no spray

I work on just about any system you can think of but a typical car like transmission, HVAC + diesel driven A/C's, hydraluics and more hydraluics, phenumadics like you wouldn't belive, gas turbines, diesel engines, AC generators (turbine and diesel driven), portable engine driven heaters, HP and LP air compressors, some are ECU controaled some are all mechanical.
What is your cam timing?
How does you low end and top end feel?
Advanced cam timing helps high end hp might think about that.
I made upper and lower plenum spacers for the 2.8 intake because I know the 120* turn at the top of the intake isn't helping any thing.
I think that cam is to small and not worth the install, but that's just me.
You need to port you 3.4 manifold, trust me, I have one. They look like they have restrictors cast in them, when you take it off you will know them when you see them.
The heads need to be ported, I think they even hole back the stock cam if that's even possible.
I sicked the die grinder and carbide porting bits on my heads and took out a lot of iron.
The exhaust ports are about done mainly fnishing is all they need, the intakes need more work, I'll post some picks of the porting soon on my cardomain site.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

I don't use a 3.4 manifold, I use a 2.8 one. I can't port my heads because of the amount of labor involved in going back into the motor, It took me almost 2 hours to replace the springs, I don't wanna do that again. I plan on ghetto engineering me a different upper manifold, one that will shorten the runner length and add some volume to the plenum area. If I knew how (or someone could show me) I would install a TPI throttle body to better improve the flow. Timing was at stock timing when I did the runs (10* advance). It is still hard to turn over the engine (acts like it has a ****load of compression or overly advanced timing). Power curve is a steady ramp, I would say it peaks at about 4500 ? It seems as though there is more HP but much less torque (do to the air starvation I wopuld imagine). I'll be trying to figure it out all next week, surly there is power to be made with the better cam, but I havn't found it yet. Actually, I forgot to clear my computer memory after the install, I'll see if that helps any...MODS:
3.4,Crower cam, K-motion valvesprings, Heddman Longtubes, BBK AFPR, Accel Coil, 36mm/23mm Sways, Boxed LCAs/Panhard bar, Mutant Nitrous wet kit, Mr. Gasket Cutout, 10.02 1/8 mile at 67.2 mph UNTUNNED no spray

2hrs for the springs....I work on more difficult cars daily, the whole job actually took me a total of maybe 10 hrs. Reguardless, I'll be starting with the stupid intake manifold and then if that doesn't help, I'll just spray the crap out of the motor and hope it grenades leaving me an opportunity to put in a nice, simple, carbed 350.
