honestly man, that motor is barely, if at all, an increase over stock.. what you should do, if you wanted to keep the 3.4, is rebuild it, re cam it, polish the heads and add a power adder (N2O, turbo) so as to get into the 13's... maybe one day 12's with perfect conditions.. thats all i'm hopin for at least..

yeah the 3.8 seeing as how it's a buick not chevy engine it has a different k-member so if you were going to do that why not spend the extra 700 and get an lt1 drivetrain, cause basically you are replacing all the same stuff.
you could always do what i did since you are lookin at new stuff. i tossed the crap up top in favor of a full aluminum head setup.
my car is currently using all the topend parts from a 2000 grand am GT (3.4L FWD aka 3400) and pistons that were designed for those heads. i have not ported or polished anything. the only real "performance" part i have on the engine are a set of RKSport headers.
i havent dyno'd with the 3400 stuff, but when i FIRST rebuilt the motor with the aluminum heads and 3100 stuff...
(read: same size valves as the 3.4L RWD, the 3400 valves are bigger on the intake, and the runners on the 3100 plenum are tiny = bad airflow. 3400 stuff is nice nice)
... i dynod the car at 170rwhp and 207 rwtq with my cutout open. (167rwhp/203rwtq with it closed). again - all the parts are in the condition they came from GM - with a lot of miles on them, and im still making good power for a 3.4L RWD.
i cant wait to get some good performance parts in there ;)
lemme know if you are interested ill see about answering questions for ya.
Hello every one, ozzy here ive been looking at this page for weeks now finally joined. So my question is why is it that every turbo build forum just ends...
Just ordered some Toyo 315/35/17 tires for my 17x11 rims. Hopefully I can get them on the beginning of next year. Will post pics.
