Crane makes 2 mechanical cams, the smaller is a mean street cam.
I think they go for about $200.
        Mechanical cams are bad @$$.
There larg Mech. cam looks unstreetable.
Or stay hyd cam and get a crane 272 cam like me it has 216*/228* dur and .454''/.480'' lift, it is the biggest hydraluic cam they (crane) make for the 3.4.
Comp makes one a little bigger than that it's like 228*/228* duration (lift is ??? by me) but I dont think the fuel injection intake can flow enought to feed it.

Bigger isn't always better unless you do some porting. If you wanna do heads at the same time I'd say go with the big one :D , if not, go with something a bit more mild. I put the Crower Baja Beast on my Hybrid and it dropped my 1/8 mile time by .6 seconds. I'm running 15's now no doubt. If you wanna go all out, get some hedders, port the heads, and get a 5 angle valve job, new springs, locks, 1.6 rockers and a cam with as much lift and duration as the computer will allow (you'll prolly run mid-low 15's). All of that will set you back over a grand (unless you do the work yourself). The 3.4 has potential, so don't think you don't have a chance of making power.

im not for sure but i think the crower baja beast is a little bit on the mild side. the GT2 cam from ZZP performance is a good cam lots of lift. boring the cylinders isnt usually used to accept a larger cam. the main things you want to upgrade is lifters, pushrods, rockers, springs, Port and polish, 3-5 angle valve job, throttle body, etc. and tuning

do most people use fuel pressure regulartors when buying a new cam, besides drillling a hole in the throttle plate. Also what size injectors, stock??? maybe 19's from a 3.8?

im runnin the big comp cam its running way rich down low though i wouldnt suggest it if you had to drive it daily... which i do....its rough big SOTP gain to me but i will get some times and maybe a dyno... i want to put my aluminum heads on now though!! Anyways go with something in the middle a little lope a nice idle and a little power. I Hope i helped a bit. Later,

cam specs on the site are duration 226 236 and lift is .463 .474 but i used a split ratio rocker arm and bumped it to .494 intake and left the .474 exhaust. It is running much better now. I dropped my fuel pressure to where i am just a little bit rich under WOT and i changed the spark plugs since they were fouled under the first run with 24lb injectors... Its strong and sounds great.... only problem is its still a bit lopey for the street the stall helps a lot so its all good. Just adding the specs for anyone who wanted to know
