I would definitly file legal action against them for the price of a new/rebuilt block...it may or may not be there fault...it couldve been on its last leg but its too coinidental that it was fine when you brought it in but now its screwed after they installed a cam into it.

If they actually know anything they should know they messed up and they're at fault and they need to fix the problem. However, if they put it together correctly and the owner took it out and gave it hell for a week or two then something broke, thats when the owner is at risk. We dont gaurantee anything once it leaves the shop but its pretty easy to tell if the breakage was something we did or not. If we caused the mess up, we fix it. If not, sorry and we'll try to help you out getting it back together.

n20 can be had for less then $800+tuning $140+used slicks on salad shooters $25...adds up to less then a grand for me....and v6's can be had fairly cheap compared to v8's...sorry you were stuck with a 3.4 but dont be a buzzkill to the rest of us.

Well, today I got back from the field. the first thing I did was check on my car(it's been down for a month now). The mechanic said that a bearing that goes to the crank shaft is bad and it would cost too much too repair and that he recomends that my best be is to replace the whole eng with another one!

                      Has he gone mad?
the purpouse is to beef up and mod on not to bring back to stock!!!

The car is definately going to need some attention is sort of suck for I leave for the sand box in about 90 days and will be out for a year.

Times like this I wish I new my way around under the hood!
Oh! one more thing, the mechanic even suggested that if I wanted to get rid of my car that he would call a friend of his to see if he would buy it. Is n' that the icing on the cake?
Some nerve the guy has to even make that comment!

Even if i got another engine why in the world would I want it stock for?

Today as he rev it up I noticed a lot of smoke comming out of the exhaust. at first it was white but rght away it turned black and it was iddling rough. it was having trouble staying on at iddle.

I am really running out of patience with this man. he said he was going to have an answer to me tomorow I sure like to hear what of the wall story he's going to come up with now!

Well guys I appreciate the support and I'll keep you imformed as soon as the guy gets back to me!

Wow, he should really know not to run a car with a bad main bearing, now all he is doing is damaging the block and crank even more than it is already.

A cam will not spin a rod bearing. A botched install will though. Period. Installing a cam WILL not spin a bearing, nor will a tune. It is physically impossible. I has to be an oil, oil pump, or contamination problem.

When you talk to him next. Ask him why he thinks the bearing went bad.

Honestly sounds to me like your mechanic jipped you when he got a good offer on your car from his friend... That is when the cam setup is complete and the sucker is pushing 250 HP... So he goes and creates problems that he can fix later to make your car seem unrepairable with circumstances so you'll end up selling it to him and he can make a fortune when he fixxes it and sells it to his friend...

You shouldn't have to pay the person to fix your car.

You brought him a car that was functional and a part to install. His installation has caused further malfunction.

You would easily win in small claims court.

I would tell him if he doesn't fix your car at his cost (pay for the cam install, thats it).. you'll take him to court and make him pay there.

Magnus I believe you are correct, the guy tryed to sell me a eng for $3000. he said that was the cheapest way to fix it. I am paying for my cam and I am going to find me a GOOD lawyer. I can not believe this guy anymore.

He said my oil pump went out and that it caused it to go bad (spun bearing), he then suggested that I leave it to him and that he would fix it.

I am afraid to leave the car there for he might have somthing else go wrong. The last time I drove my car was when I droped it off, and it ran strong. My car is being down for a month now.

I'll let you guys now how all this end up later

                              GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS.
