Sorry if this should be in basic tech but I don't think this is a headlight motor problem. The car is a 97 Firebird that is having a headlight motor problem on the driver side. The driver side motor has been disconnected for a month now so I just crank it up when needed (rarely drive at night). Today I noticed the passenger side light will come up and turn on when the ignition is in the on or the car is started. I disconnected that passenger side headlight motor but noticed that both lights still turn on. The interior lights and gauges do not turn on until you turn the headlight switch to parking lights or on. I have checked the fuses and reset the PCM to see if that would clear a problem. I have checked other connections so at this point I am at a loss. Has anyone have experience with this problem? Thanks in advanced.

Just a quick update. Yesterday I had to move the cars around in the driveway. When I first started it up the light popped up (reconnected the motor wires). I still had to turn the headlight switch to get the interior lights on. When I was done I turned off the headlight switch and the lights turn off and the passenger side light went down. I repeated this a few times with the same results. So it seems things are back to normal for now. Very strange.
