Don't run it no more. Do you have oil pressure? You could have rolled a cam bearing. That would be real bad. Plus I tink that the 97's have a limp mode on them so when someting goes wrong it shut off down to two cyl. to get you off the road. Check your oil for small aluminum shavins that would =cam bearings

i just got done popping the valve covers, the inside's were covered in mayonaise(antifreeze) i guess i blew a head gasket.. this really sucks, i'm going to be pulling the motor and dropping a new on in..

Yea, it's quite possible from all your recent cam swaps that a cam bearing got knicked up.. You have to be EXTREMELY careful when removing and installing the cams.

        Horse_Hunter, great thinking!

Mike, your heads were never removed... perhaps you blew another gasket or one didn't seal properly, like lower intake to head or front cover.

My car did the same thing mike but i caught it after driving the car for like no more than 20 miles and i redid all gaskets and flushed the motor with motor flush and then ran 3 sets of oil through it to clean it all out. and car has run great since. I am really sorry man. Are you gonna upgrade or are you gonna go back to the six.

yea one of slackers intake gaskets leaked coolant and we got a nice kinda of like real old milk think goin on in the motor

next day we did it again had to get all new gaskets and bolts

hrmm why not get a motor for 400-500 put the cam in it but right this time then drop the engin in? it will only set you back about 800 for gaskets and all

              hehe bring it to texas

When assembling the upper and lower intake, DON'T forget to put those rubber o-rings in!

the motor is most likely shot.
