I think this is a question for the advanced side of 3rd gens. Can anyone tell me what the stock piston diameter and the stroke measurements for a 2.8L? And if this is not for this forum let me know. Thanks

Thanks. So if i bore it 30 over it will be a 3.8" bore with 3.0" stroke and that would make it a 3.4L 205CID. is this correct? i wonder how many horses this would produce?

The stock 3.4L V6 with a 3.622 bore and 3.312 stroke puts out 160Bhp so I would think your figures are probably pretty close.

bore & stroke may be closer to a 3.4, but you still need a new cam. There are 2.8-3.1 & 2.8-3.4 stroker kits available.

Not Correct! Your math needs a little fix...

30 over is 30 thousandths of an inch or 0.030". The original 3.500" bore would become 3.530" if bored 30 over. The cylinder wall thickness in the 2.8/3.1 block is less than 0.120" so there is a limit to how far it can be safely bored.
