• bye bye gas

ok here i am. i just did all the work to my car like 3-4 weeks ago. and now my gas is just going so fast. i would be able to get 400 high way miles about 300 city miles. and now i'm lucky if i get 200. i don't take my car over 55 mph unless racing. last tank of gas i didn't race once and i got just about 180 miles to the tank. now keep in mind with everything that i have done and the tuning that foff667 did for me, my fuel pressure is at a wooping 72 lbs at idle, when i hit the gas just about at 80lbs. that is f'ing insane to me. but bill(foff) said that if the car is running stoich with n/x then it should stay where it is. when i start up the car i run rich all he2l.

u should have it set so ur fuel curves are dif for when u runt he spray and when u run stock thats why ur running way to rich i bet it feels like its bogged down when u get on the gas now.
my 93 with the 350 carbed in it is the same way right now im running to rich ive got smoke coming from the exhaust thats how rich im running. i havent had time to change it only got to drive it once since i finsihed the swap.
but its still got balls but its not where it needs to be.
also do u have higher flow injecotors?
do u still have areturn line?at which if u put the key to ignition ud be able to tell by the sound of the whine from the fuel pupm the return lets the pump run all day. as with me im nocking my stock pump down to 5-10 psi it whines it moans and it sounds like a walbro in a way.
the problem is ur running way to rich.
what u need is a programed pcm for racing and one for daily driving.
Like us dodge guys. one for warranty and one for fun.

but if i have two differnet setting then things get harder, cause you see this is my daily driver and if i'm drivig down the road and i get a race i will turn on the n/x and spray. so then i wouldn't be getting the right fuel presure right?

see i told ya to just leave the fp alone lol when i tuned it you had no clue what the fuel pressure was so i just helped tune it as it stood...if you change the fuel pressure now it will not only change it at idle but at wot which means your pe would be thrown off again and you'll run uber lean at wot...you dont need a program for racing and daily driving...you just need one tune with semi low timing since your running a wet shot of nitrous. When i was monitoring your a/f with the w/b at idle you were sitting at 14.8-15.2:1 and 12.7-13.0 at wot...just as a point of reference i lost 5mpg when i swapped cams into my ls1...you picked a cam that has a good amount of overlap IMHO i dont think you'll gain anything by lowering the fuel pressure as far as idle/part throttle, but you can try just be sure to adjust your pe accordingly.

What size is the cam?? I have my built motor with heads, pretty big cam, intake and a bigger bore and I still get the same Highway miles as I got before.. 30mpg on highway and around 22mpg around town.. I am rocking a stock tune with timing advanced 4degrees on motor and leaned out 4 percent at WOT and 2percent at Base with my Maft+.. That nets me a 12.2 wot Airfuel and a 14.7-14.8 a/f not at WOT.. On nitrous I set the timing to stock and the airfuel to stock and I get 10.0 A/F on the bottle..

if, I were you i'd program it back to stock besides some of the bare essebntials and just load it all back up when racing

LOL well at least its better then me i ran out of gas while iddling the car yesterday thought i blew the fuel pump all of asudden i had no pressure. i was like ok i couldnt hear the pump whining so i turned th fans off and still didnt so i checked all hte fuses the wires going to it then i was like ill touch the top of the tank(i have a hole cut in my trucn to get to the pump) and it was vibrating and making a lil whine so i put a lil fuel in it and wola figured out the problem
but today im going to findo ut in a minute what kinda gas milage i got during some city highway see how many gallons i burned off in 60 miles. then ill let you kno.

she had gotten her heads/cam done at a local shop & i think either they/she adjusted her FP via an adj. regulator before they had a working fuel pressure gauge...they werent sure of her fuel pressure & asked my help in tuning her...i went there with my w/b and got her wot dialed in just fine, but if she changes her fuel pressure she would have to get her wot fueling completely redone.

so do it right

lower the fp and then retune her pe table it should not be that bad, all you should have to do is maybe richen the v6 base vs ect and richen it maybe .1 or .2 that would be close to bring it back to where it was

did you tune for her higher fp? ie. edit here injector flow rate table?

Like stated I/we didnt know what her FP was at the time...i plopped in a ifr table for her larger injectors...the computer was compensating to get her back to a decent a/f at idle/part throttle which I was fine with temporarily and then got her wot fueling in line. Consider she had the program at the time but they just had alot of issues and needed some hands on help & with me having a w/b and only being 25 miles away with a good amount of experience I was one of the few choices.
