• Throttle Body P&P ?'s

I want to port and polish my TB. I ran a search but did not find what I was looking for. Does any one have step by step instructions with pic's? what are pro's and con's? Also what tool's, parts & materials do I need to do the job?

Thanks in advance

I'll do it for you, and the upper/lower intakes as well.

but make sure you get a maft for the ported throttle body. mine leaned out a little after the TB port and polish. intakes won't affect rich/lean

edit: I just used a dremel and some grinding bits, with a flapper wheel to clean it up, and a polishing wheel to polish them.

Not much to be done on the 99's...

this is more of a 95-98 mod.

well keith, you can give it a nice mirror or satin polish. gets the casting off there. less carbon build up. smoother airflow.

I've never seen casting flaws on the insides of our TB's.

not flaws, but it could always be smoother.

They are already smooth from the factory. The only polishing you do to it is for visual affects really..

The ONE thing I can think of that could be done on a 99+ is grinding down that front lip above the MAF.. You have to be careful though because its shallow.. and maybe take some epoxy and build a little ramp for it..

I agree with the smoothness part as far as there being any big burs or what nots but it is not ported or polished stock, air flows mucho better over a polished surface than a stock smooth surface. I would just take a lil off the top and polish it up.

Does any one have any pic's of a 99+ P&P job?
I ordered the Mini-AFC should be here tomarrow to make up for the lesn condition? There is not much to do maybe I will jus polish it up a lil' jus for Kicks and giggles

also I will need a new gasket cause you have to remove it from the car correct?

navyblue2000 or any one elseDid you use a felt polishing wheel or a wire brush?

If your going to polish it, use felt wheel with compount.. but imho you won't gain a THINK from polishing it up as it's already smooth man.
