  • Question for anyone with Hp Tuners program

I am having a hard time getting the shift points right for the 2-3 shift for some reason it will not shift Ive lowered the shift mph vs tps and shift vs vhicle speed and it still will not shift. I raised my shift points to 6000 and fuel cut off to 6250. I had the same problem with first gear shift but I figured it out but I can not figure this out at all I have been tring this for a week know and still no closer. I went from stock 3.08 gears the 3.73. if that helps at all. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I noticed that when my PCM was tuned by TSP, the 2nd-3rd shift is not as quick as the 1st-2nd shift. Maybe it's just hard to get it to reprogram.
Are you saying that your car will not shift at all out of 2nd?

yeah it wil not shift out of 2nd at all it will hit the revlimiter before it will shift and I know that there is nothing wrong with the tranny cause I can put my Dhp tuned pcm back in and it works just fine.

Hmmm, you may want to e-mail Magnus at HP Tuners or Matt at TSP. they might be able to help you.
I wish I could help you, but I have no idea what that could be.

HP Tuners has a forum which appears to have helpful/knowledgeable people on it. I bet someone there could help you:

          http://www.hptuners.com/forum/YaBB.pl

Also, if you are putting a different PCM in your car you need to get a crank position relearn procedure done. I had a similar sympton (wouldn't shift out of second) with my first Wester's tuned PCM. I called Lyndon Wester and he told me to get the relearn procedure done and that fixed it right up. Is your SES light flashing for like 10-15 seconds when the car won't shift? This should only be an issue if you are putting a different PCM in your car. If it is the same PCM you probably don't have to worry about it, just throwing this out there just in case.
SLP CAI, K&N, Whisper Lid, 180* thermo, manual fan switch, 3.42 gears, Auburn Pro LSD, Wester\'s PCM Tuning, TSP Rumbler, High Flow Cat. Best Time: 9.909@71.58 (1/8 mile)

If your car is not shifting you need to lower the shift points.

                Ya, its pretty basic.

Keep your WOT vs RPM shift table stock. Then match up your WOT vs Speed and Speed vs TPS tables for 100% values.. then keep lowering them till it will shift.

A 3.08 gear may be ok shifting at 44mph but a 3.73 gear may need to be shifted at 37mph to avoid the rev limiter.
