• Abbott Racing Heads Question

    http://www.abbottracingheads.com/gm3800.html

I want to go with the Stage IIs on my 3800, but I have a couple questions...

    1. Do I need to send in my heads FIRST? Or do they send me diff heads and I can send my heads back for the $200 core?

    2. And by heads, as a plural, does that mean I need 2, having to spend $999.95 times 2, which equals $1999.90 for a done deal?

Yes, stupid questions, but I need to make double positive.

The meaning of a core charge is that you get new parts, then send your old (current) ones back in for a refund.

That's $999.95 for a set, not for each individual cylinder head.

      Okay lol. Thank God.

I thought that's what a core was. I'm young though so us 17 year olds don't know s**t lol.

And I thought about it and was like.. damn.. I have two heads. Not one.

      Thanks though!

He's correct, $999.95 is for a pair of heads. We have a set of heads really close to being done and an upper/lower intake done already. Email me at wickedsix98@hotmail.com or call us at the shop when you get ready!

Well I'm looking into both but I'm not going to be able to afford them for a little while. I'm planning on doing my cam, rockers, etc along with heads and PP upper/lower intake at once late spring or early summer of '06.

I may be wrong, but I think their intakes are done one way and only one way. I'm sure they compliment all three stages.

Anyway, how far ahead of time would I need to order them for them to get on my doorstep? A few weeks?

We can make them match any of our heads or stock heads.

Placing your order 2-3 weeks advanced is a good idea. We can get them out quicker a lot of the time but I dont know how busy we'll be in the shop at the time you order.

Sounds great. I think I'm on the same path as you with the mods you have listed. But I want to turbo it one day and suspension mods and stuff..

You don't HAVE to, but it'll help you out a lot if you tune it by making everything work together more efficiently, thus adding power.

No you have to. Sure it will spit and spudder down the street without a tune but it will more than likely make LESS power than before untuned.

                            Mine did anyways.

I ran for a full year before I started tuning. Had absolutely no problems. 0 KR and LTFTs of -0.7%. You do not have to tune it.
