  • Need GM Lifters, GMpartsdirect says $210???

Ok, I looked up the part numbers for stock replacment lifters for my 97 bird (one of mine collapsed) and this is what i found:

    97 Valve Lifters -

    Part Number -- 17121905
Pack Quantity is 8 so the price of $22 supposedly is for each, making 16 lifters (only need 12 but comes in packs of 8) a total of like $420 shipped.

Either GMPartsDirect's catalog is retarded or GM is insane. Somebody help?

How are they better? I have a stock cam so i don't need more agressive lifters or anything and I heard that stock replacement lifters are only like $45.

Even with a stock cam, the stock lifters will bleed off quite a bit above 5000 or so RPM. The Comp lifters are preloaded .060" for increased performance across the rev band, and the fact they are cheaper than stock makes it a no brainer.

Ok, so I am assuming that the price is correct that I listed from GMParts. Will definately be buying the comp ones then, thanx again!

How low of mileage are we talking about and are these comp cams or gm replacement ones?

I have a set of nice lifters from my old 3.8 engine. All lifters are in excellent shape and have 48k miles on them. I will sell them to you less then half the cost of a new gm lifter set. email me if interested.
