Anyone know what size the bigger valves supersix uses in the 3.4L heads are? i have heads and i was interrested in gettin bigger valves. I know that Si makes valves but i dont think they are bigger but rather just stainless. Let me know if you have any info.
Thanks in advance,
Dakota

I have done a lot of research on this and I really don't think that you'll gain too much out of those bigger valves. Tiago and I were in agreement on this about a year ago and I don't know where he stands now, but I would imagine that he feel the same as I do.

i dont think that there would much advantage to the intake , but look at the stock exhaust and the si exhaust valves.. the stock valve looks like it would be a lot more restrictive than the si valve, but i have no actual #'s to prove anything.. so take my advice with a grain of salt

Its all about the flow. From the research I have done there is a 20% increase across the board for intake flow and 14% increase across the board for exhaust flow.
its all about the flow if you ask me. It DEFINATELY cannot hurt!

you lose what you gain with a larger valve in the cast iron 3.4 heads. if you run a larger valve in a small chamber, it put the valve closer too the walls of the chamber. and you lose any good flow that was there with a stock valve. i think this is just wasted money!!! w3rd.. the combustion chambers are tiny to begin with
now getting a custom valve made with the same diameter.. we may be on to something

I dont know if there is a difference between the 3.4 and 3.8 heads.....what I do know is there is a 10 cfm difference when using bigger valves on a 3.8 head....
