  • Best Cam for 3.8?

What is the best Cam to get for my 2001 3.8 if I wanna spend around $250? I also don't plan on doing much more to my car after a new cam. I only have flowmaster catback. Also what kind of gains should I expect from getting it?

depends on what mods u have, and what mods you will add in the future, and how u want the car to run.

If you're not planning on doing many mods, then don't bother. A cam is not just a bolt on mod...it shouldn't be done until after you've done everything else first.

i would like to know too. I'm gonna have full 3" exhaust, headers, highflow Cat, Flowmaster muffler, Electric cutout by spring. I have K&N filter now along with my Hypertech and a 180 degree thermostat. What kinda Cam would be good with those mods. I don't plan on putting a ton more stuff in it then that. maybe a NX kit next summer of about a 75-100 shot.

You guys might want to do some suspension mods while you're studying up on things like cams, etc. I'm not trying to tell you how to spend your cash, but an improved suspension will complement the mods you already have, and the ones you add in the future. That's my $ .02 anyway. But good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I agree with memphis. I think that an upgraded suspension is one of the most important mods.
