I'd be pissed if a 150 shot of ANY brand only gained 100rwhp....I think I read that around 90% is an average gain of what is advertised...so like a 100 shot NX, would be expected to net about 90rwhp.... Then there's TNT, another story entirely!

I believe that whole NX 100 shot is less than a 100 TNT shot is a load of crap i bet if i went and dyno'ed my car with my 100 shot i would cut close to 100+ on the bottle. Anyways, I'm also wanting to know about a cam for my car. Preferably one that I can still use my Jet Chip for but I'm willing to toss it if I can't. I haven't read all of the posts on cams yet so I've refrianed from posting but this post seems to be pretty much what I'm wanting too. What about the Grand Prix GT cam? That one was suggested to me when I was looking for 30+hp to catch up to LT1's and 5.0's.

NX rates there nitrous shots at the wheels. 100 shot of NX = 100 RWHP give or take a few depending on car.

umm.. I think this post has become hijacked.. just an observation....
I have never done a cam in a 3800 series II but this has been my opinon when you change the lift and how fast your bring that lift you need to go with a beefed up valve train.. honestly I think that would be part of any good aftermarket cam setup... that would be new lifters(this prettymuch has to stay stock) upgraded pushrods, springs, retainers, and (I don't know about the availability on this last one) some better rockers, not necessarily increased ratio but something roller tipped that doesn't flex like a stock steel stamped rocker would..
to me that would be your best bet for maintaining streetablity, and reliability.. as far as particular cam specs... well there are people here much more knowledgable about what works on our little buick motors..

So should the 212/212 112LS .520/.520 work fine with the stock computer? It's been said that the 206/212 cam won't send any SES lights but what about a cam with the same exhaust lobe but a little bit bigger intake lobe? Is there any reason to not use my Jet Chip with a new cam or can I still use it?
I usually shift around 5,500 so that I don't hit the rev limiter, will this cam make the power where I want it to be?
If stock springs won't hold this much lift, which springs would I need to go with this and would the push rods need to be upgraded or will stock do fine? With upgraded springs is there anything else that I need, retainer clips or modifying the lifters in any way?
Is this going to hurt my gas mileage any? I can usually get like 28-30mpg on the highway and average low 20's in town even with how I drive.

WIth a 212/212 Cam your peak power will probly be very close or over 6k. If you are shifting at 5,500 RPM you will not get everything the cam has to offer. But it will still be alot stronger than stock even at 5,500. Im not sure about gas milage.

So is there any way I can shift at 6,000 without getting the Hypertech programer? I'm actually thinking about getting this anyways.
Anouther big question which might not go in this topic, if I get this game do I need to upgrade the fuel system any? It will probly make less power in the low RPM like you were asking 2-3500k range. But it will make up for it in the topend that you gain. You probly wont notice the power loss in daily driving because you dont usually daily drive WOT and shift at 3500.

Right, you might only need 30hp to accelerate normally around town and at 2000RPM stock your car is capable of say 95. With the cam you might only make 90hp at 2000RPM max but you're still only using 30hp... you'll never notice you lost it [img]smile.gif[/img]
At WOT you're shifting between 4500-6000RPM, and thats where the cam helps make the power you crave anyways [img]smile.gif[/img]2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
