    To plastigage the crank and rods your teacher is correct in that you have to do it from the bottom of the motoe. Since your motor will be out of the car, it's really easy. Put it on an engine stand, flip it over (bottoms up) and pull the oil pan off. Remove the Mains one by one, the each rod cap, one by one. There's no need to pull the pistons/rods out of the block to do this, or "pull your motor apart'. Plus, it's a great learning experience for you.

      The driveshafts are the same dont worry about it.

      Ya once you do plastigage yoru realize how simple it really is.

      I would deffentially put the double chain on why its all out.

        im going to take it to a machine shop to do the rod bearings. i have the money, so why mess with it? some may say to learn, but id rather learn on something that isnt my only performance hope.
