  • Cam and Valvetrain Install Question.

I have purchased a Intense Stage I Cam, Intense 1.6 Roller Rockers, Intense Pushrods, Comp Cam Valvesprings and retainers to install in my Camaro. Will the stock lifter work with this set up? I want to avoid pulling the heads.

I believe the stock lifters will work as long as you don't rev higher than ~6000 rpm.

you don't need to remove the heads to change the lifers anyway.

Stock lifters aren't bad at all. New ones are good just so you know that there's nothing wrong with them, but you'll be fine with the stockers. I'm actually back on my stock lifters now while trying to find a tick.

Like ma4life said, if you do want to install new ones, you don't have to remove the heads.

I agree with the rest of the replies, and also agree that the heads can stay on to do the lifters. The intakes both have to come off. You will need to use compressed air in the cylinders while you change out the valve springs, etc.
