so im in the process of planning out mods for this slow car, and with christmas, 18th birthday, and graduation coming up, i will have a good amount of cash i think.
    here is my question
the car needs to remain a daily driver, that is reliable. my mechanical knowledge is very limited, and i dont want to be spending a lot of money having mechanics try to figure out the problems and stuff.
would a cam and heads make the car too unpredictable to be a daily driver? what cam do you guys recommend that would be fairly moderate, nothing too crazy.

Please see the sticky at the top of this forum: http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...;f=16;t=003516

Heads and cam will run you around $2000 if you install everything yourself. Add another $1000 to have a shop do it.

If you don't plan on working on your car, I wouldn't go heads/cam. Things happen and you need to be able to work on it.

I don't see what mods you have already done, but there are tons of mods to do before engine work: intake, exhaust, tranny, rear end, suspension, tuning, etc.

Most important thing is to read all the posts in this forum and make your own decision. If you can't decide which cam best suits you, I don't think it's something you should be doing. Engine work is not a little bolt on; it's a very serious matter. Learn everything you can about the workings of an engine and choose one that best suits you.

As per the sticky at the top, this thread will be locked. Good luck.
