1.7 ratio rockers

frist time here, and was hoping that someone my know the answer.

i got a 3.8 97 camaro, had full exhaust, milled the heads, change the T/B, pics drive shaft, 3.42 lsd rear end, up-graded shocks,

well i want to add more lift without doing a cam. will 1.7 rockers fit and work without setting off the SES light?

and was thing about adding the upper & lower intake from supersix

P&P intakes arent known around here for adding much power. I would save your money on those. About the rockers you can easily use a 1.7 on a stock cam I would even try higher maybe 1.9. You can get rockers here: www.3800performance.com. I think you would gain more power from added more duration to your cam then lift. Have you thought about a cam swap?

If you go with 1.7-1.9 rockers wouldnt that throw off your geometry big time? What all would be needed to correct this? Dont we have 1.6 or 1.7 rockers stock? Would we gain any noticeable horsepower from the rockers? Again what all is needed to run the rockers and have everything function properly? Which rockers does everyone recommend for our cars?

you need ( to be safe ) to change out your springs and such and buy new rods and yes from 1.9 ratio full roller rockers you would see some performance gain, only it is going to change when you buy a new cam becuase you have 1.9 instead of 1.6 you are going to have a higher lift of the valves

the 1.9 will give you a Slight cam effect be expecting any where from 10 - max of 20 on a NA engine btw the l36 likes to favor the exaust so there are split ratio rockers i my self am going to put in 1.9 full rollers and a mid- almost large cam l8rz

when I got the heads done they took of the deck I think .0100 or 0.0200 of a inch off the deck
I remeber when the heads were done they told me that they kept the push rod the same size, so with the push rod size the same 1.7 can be done safly, coooolllllll [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img] time to get some horse power [img]graemlins/fluffy.gif[/img] thanks

We dyno tested a dozen combo's of rockers on the L36. We have found that a split ratio dyno's higher peak HP, and a wider power band than the 1.9's sold at 3800P and our site. We recommend the 1.9's for the supercharged guys but the split ratios are a MUCH better choice for NA guys.
