  • How to fix maxing out the injectors?

This is a new thing to me...(who would have thought stockish cars would have an issure  )

I understand certain things affect the flow with fuel pressure and such...

SO what can a 99+ car do to fix this? I know newer cars run a different harness so it limits are options some.

What can we do to upgrade?

can we change anything in the fuel system to keep our injectors from maxing out? increase/lower fuel pressure? etc...

A slight increase in fuel pressure would do it.
What pressure do you see now?
A adjustable fuel pressure regulator may help, or maybe your pump is showing early signs of crapping out.

If my fuel pump is dienng then I must say the 3.8L f-body is the worst car on the planet.

53k miles. Never run out of gas...

as for fuel pressure no clue... I never even thought to bother looking at my fuel system since my car is pretty stock. just glanced at it and noticed I am maxing out my injectors.

btw another relatively stock 3.8L is maxing his out to... leading away from just defective parts on my car, and more a design flaw from factory.

Maybe it could be some kind of reading problem within HPtuners making it slightly innacurate. I dunno.
I really don't want to believe that GM put too small of an injector on, running in that duty cycle will kill an injector faster, plus controll becomes innacurate at the point.

Maybe its something along the lines of a factory freak + mods issue.

What is the actual IPW and RPM where you're most maxing them out?

              Inj B2 19.3

              Inj duty cycle = 93%

This is a stupid question but could it be a clogged fuel filter? How long ago did you replace it? I don’t know anything about injectors or tuning just thought I’d ask.

was replaced... maybe 8k ago, less then a year ago.

I woudl say its an issue with my car, but t-punk, another car has the same issue.

So its either the cars from the factory or the scanner.

and i believe little G was having issues as well, I know he was looking at bigger injectors for a bit. But his tune is probably a far shy better then stock.

Should I worry about this problem since you deleted COT or no? BTW, why is your Intake Air Temp so high?

                      that should make no difference....

I had COT removed for that run... and t-punks car tune is stock.

and it showed up with my stock tune loaded as well.

no but when I sit idling with the car running AC blowing and radio running in the staging lanes going over scans... yes they do get that high...

drivebelt woudl not affect it, thats like a ls1 driveshaft causing you to max out the injectors...

I do run no filter and a cutout. Belt was on for the runs.

other scans not posted, of me driving around stock tune, paper filter in, shaved lid, smooth bellows, but cutout open my injectors were showing they were maxing out.

So a stock car with a stock shaved lid, smooth bellows, and a cutout, is enough to max out the injectors...

I cna through a full stock intake setup,a and cap the cutout and I am sure it will still do it.

and like said before... same thing comes up on a '01 firebird with a takeoff exhaust and minimal intake mods. So its not just my car, its not a "freak thing" with my car only.
