  • L36'S is there a difference? need answer asap

    well i found a motor for my maro. it's out of a 97 boniville. it's a 3.8l series 2 motor as well. i know the manifolds are going to be diffenent, but what else? will this motor fit?

    I've always heard that the blocks are the same.

    You'll need to keep your heads if I remember right, because the fuel injector bosses are in the heads on the fwd, and in the intake on the rwd.

    And change over the accessories (alt, ps, etc.) in addition to the intake and heads. I don't know if the heater hose outlets are the same or not, might have to switch that over too.

      I believe the injector bosses are in the heads of the L67 engines only because the intake manifold has been changed to accomidate the supercharger. On a FWD L36 engine I believe they are in the same place. I think the upper intake manifold and throttle body are different.

        Yes, I was thinking L67 when I wrote that about the injector bosses... [img]smile.gif[/img]

        I don't know for sure about the non-supercharged fwd. I've looked at one, one time, but it's been over a year ago, and I don't remember where the injectors were on it...

          what about like buick regal heads that come from the Regals with 3800s in them? Camaros are hard to find in junk yards around me, but I am sure I can find buicks in the junkyards to steal parts off of.
