• Upgrading Valvetrain

Well recently I have determined that I have a collapsed lifter. So I plan on of course replacing it. The problem is that if I am going to go that deep into the engine I might as well upgrade some more of the engine.
You can see in my Sig what mods that I have done already with other's planned. I was planning on doing a bunch of suspension mods first but this problem has kind of pushed those plans back.
Now, I plan on Turbocharging my car in the future so I wanted to build up the insides anyway to allow for higher boost. I thought that I would have more time to study internals before going this route.
So my question for everyone are what are some of the key things that I need to get? I know a cam would be a good start but I am working on a budget of around $600 or so (cost only, install seperate). Any suggestions (including part#'s if possible) would really help me out.
So far things that I have found that I might get are Comp Cams Lifters 875-12, Comp Cam Springs 26918, and Chromoly Pushrods.

Off the top of my head, I think those lifters you mentioned are the OE-Rs? If so, I would consider either stock OEM or the regular Comp OE lifters. The OE-Rs are supposed to be a real pain in the *** to setup.

I started with my cam, then I decided to get lifters (gonna replace with OEM lifters) and pushrods (Comp High-Tech). Next, I decided to get ported and polished intake manifolds. Then I said what the hell and ordered some heads. Now my $300 cam has turned into a $1800 project.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I had the right numbers on the lifters. I do want the OE, not the OE"R". I don't think the extra 150 RPM's are worth the hassle of the install.

Well I think that I have figured out what I am going to get.
-Comp Cam Lifters 850-12
-CC Valvesprings Titanium
-CC Hi-Tech Pushrods
-LS1 Springs

Now I just have to find the best place to order them.

Yeah, but I don't have the extra $125 for the 130 springs. So the LS1's will have to do until I get a cam.
