  • Magnus or John D. have to adapt anything to make accel injectors work.

I am going to buy new injectors since i am doing a cam as soon as comp cams gets them instock. I got 6 LT1 injectors but the wireing harness hor them is different so i am stick right now with the stock injectors off. I see that yall both have accels and i was wondering if yall had to modify anything to make them work or they are just plug and play. Also is there another injecter out there that yall recommend that i should be lookin at and i assume 24lb'ers are enghough

I remember Magnus saying that he wishes he would have gotten the LS1 injectors instead of the Accel 24 #ers. Maybe you should look into getting LS1 injectors?

I didn't have to modify anything to get the accel's in there.

Don't know about the lt1's. I believe there are only 2 wires, so you could probably cut and splice, if you had the lt1 ends from the lt1 harness.

As far as the injector shooting out of the rail, if the o-rings are on, and the rail is bolted down, I don't know how the injector would come out...? There is 40-50psi behind them, but the rail should hold the injectors down in the hole on the intake.

The 24's are about 10-15% bigger than stock. The accel site lists recommendations for injectors for different cars. It seems like they list 28's for turbo buicks, but I wasn't comfortable going that big, not knowing what kind of n/a and part-throttle issues I would be getting into. 28's would be about 25-30% bigger than stock.

I hear cobras run 24's, according to a mustang guy at work.

From what i have been reading and hearing i bet ls1 injectors will work with the 98+ v6 and the pre 98 will have to use lt1 injectors

              Interesting info on the injectors. I have a 98 3.8 and I'm using 97 LT1 injectors.

So will some LS1 injectors fit the 2000 and up 3.8 harness?

IMHO 24's should be plenty, I'm leaning my base out by 10% and still running rich with the 24lbers. And SVO's flow even more.

No the Ls1 injectors use the same wireing harness as the Lt1 and the same as the Ford SVO. I found a set of injectors that will work form a 2001 5.3L truck but they are to short i would have to modifiy the fuel rail in order for them to work.

If you have the same wireing harness as the 99 does a big plug and not a small pinned plug then yes. That is the common size plug that the LS1's use and Ford uses. SO i will say yes. The only car i have seen without that plug is year 2000 3.8L all the ls1's i have seen have the big style plug that the 99 and below use.
