  • Thrasher cam

Just wondering if anyone has used the thrasher cam in their car. To me this cam seems a little rad. I am seriously considering the purchase of this cam since i am port and polishing upper and lower intakes and the heads. The specs of this cam are:

    Duration at .050 =
    222 degree intake/222 degree exhaust

    Intake Lift =
.354 (.566 lift with stock 1.6:1 rocker ratio)

    Exhaust Lift =
.354 (.566 lift with stock 1.6:1 rocker ratio)

    Lobe Separation = 114.0

Lotta lift, that's for sure. But what's crazy about the 114 lobe sep? That makes it better for cars with FI or Nitrous. Other cams come with a 116 lsa.

The LS on that cam is not for forced induction. At 222 degrees duration and 114 lsa it still has a lot of valve overlap which is bad for forced induction cars. I think it sounds like a great NA cam. And in no way would i consider it mild. The lift should be ok with modification the valve seal pedastools and better springs. I havent tried this cam but it looks pretty nice.
