have you already talked to comp cam? last i spoke with them they did not make a cam for us. it didnt sound like you were getting a custom one, or are you?
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.
Comp makes a cam for the L36 engine (sold at grandprixstore.com) that will work for ours. The specs are in the technical database.
I would highly recommend going with stiffer springs at least. You sure don't want valve float with the higher lift cam. As far as rods go, all I've heard is that the stock ones would work ... no recomendations about replacements that I've seen. With regard to the rockers ... in my opinion stick with the stock 1.6's.

a knowledgeable person can put in a cam, though i doubt it is a job for someone to try their first time alone. mechanics will tell you you have to r&r the engine, but if you drop the fans and the radiator you can get to it from there. my mechanic i think told me it was a 10 hour job.

so where can stiffer springs be bought or if they are common things how stiff do i need to have them

If your looking to have the NA record, your going to need a little more cam than what is advertised.. Your gonna have to go custom.
Thrasher makes valve springs but you have to buy locks/retainers as well to use them. The lift with those springs is good up to .560 or so, depending on each application. Stock springs are good to .480~.520 or so.
Another option would be to talk to Tom@Supersix about putting in new valves with different locks/retainers so you can run different springs other than the Thrasher ones.
Thrasher is also supposedly coming out with springs that will work with the stock locks/retainers.
I definately recomend aftermarket springs if you plan on going with .520 lift or more.. Even if your going with .500 lift or so it wouldn't hurt to have a stronger valve spring.
