ok getting a new cam and so im getting rocker arms, new spring, pushrods, lifters, and valves. i want to upgrade everything from stock. im gonig to get a gt2 cam and i want to run 1.8 rockers. And was wondering if i have to get longer push rods or i could just use the stock length? if so how much longer and will 1.8 rocker be fine in stock heads?
thank you

Do you know how to calculate how much lift you would be running there? If not, you probably need to do more studying before thinking about going this route.
GT2 cam = .3168" lobe lift
At 1.8, that's .570". Way too much for stock heads.
yeha i really dont nkow that much about this part could you tell me a good site to go to read about it ?
thank oyu

well i did some reading and i think wiht new valve seals and new retainers it would give me .05 of extra clearence. so that should give me the extra space i need to run stock heads....right

Forget about the 1.8 rockers and just run your stock ones with some stronger valvesprings/matching retainers and possible stronger pushrods. I dont think you would see much gain with 1.8 rocker, just added stress to the valvetrain.

He will see a gain. I'm thinking about doing it now that I have heads.
With 1.6 he will have .507 and with 1.8's he will have .568 lift. His stock heads wont like that but it would be a good mod after he has head work done.

Sorry about the kind of off topic question.
Yes, hydralic roller lifters.
To calculate cam lift for those who don't know
.507 is the lift with the rocker ratio added in. Divide by rocker ratio .507/1.6 = .3168
Take that number and multiply by rocker ratio to find new lift. I didnt read replies, but like matt said your stock heads wont like that much lift at all. You'll have to get valve guides cut to handle that lift.
