what kind of gains will i be seeing with this package? i was also wanting to run nitrous and figured this would be the most effective way to start out strengthening my engine and hopefully getting somewhat of a gain from it.
let me know what you think about this mod, especially if you have done it to your car.
i think once i get the money i will go with the intense 3rd gen rockers. along with LS6 valve springs.
i see a "rocker installation package" but do i really need that? it includes new bolts, gasket, and lubricant. but i can get the gaskets and lubricant from a local store for probably cheaper.
if i don't get the installation package it should cost exactly $500.... plus shipping and taxes. i think that is a pretty good deal

NOTE: Fits any 1997-2003 W-Body or 1995-2002 F-Body equipped with a supercharged (W-Body only) or naturally aspirated 3800 V6. Package includes rocker arms, rocker bolts, pushrods, detailed installation instructions, and all necessary hardware
If you are absolutely sure you don't want to go with a cam upgrade....otherwise...don't do high ratio rockers.
GAINS: (with stock exhaust) and FT ram air induction/smooth bellows-lid = sportier performance. not like adding a big old cam...but sportier than stock nonetheless. Maybe by sportier I mean about 10 HP. Kinda pricey....but they should compliment other mods well like exhaust, juice, fi, porting, air intake, etc.
So, not massive gain at first, but fun to notice the extra pulling at 4000 rpm or so.
I have decided to upgrade the valve springs to LS6. (i have rev limiter currently set to 5600 rpm as I get valve float from the lifters at about 5700-5800 on 8000 mile engine)
Doing the springs very soon...this weekend...never mind...i am a bartender...maniana is the bad night of all bad nights....maybe next weekend the valves are going in. I will update the Rocker Report with outcome.
Good luck. G

Your getting it that low??? Damn. I was getting mine around 6K.
Nice to see the springs arent in yet. I had the same problem as you did. Hopfully you will get them in though this time around.
Ohh, and if you order the third gens from intense, they will come with a rocker install kit IIRC.

I thought about getting the SLP's, but I'm probably gonna go with the Intense 1.9's along with new lifters, pushrods, valves, springs, retainers, locks, etc.

what kind of wear and tear is there for the engine with the rocker arms if new lifters, pushrods, valves, springs, retainers, locks, etc. are installed
Technically, you dont need to change the lifters, locks and other things. Usually just springs, retainers, and pushrods.
