  • A Few questions

Ok I own a 1996 A4 Firebird, compltely stock except exhaust. I ran at the track one time and ran 10.90 w/125,000 miles. I wanna build the motor with the ZZp stroker kit, ZZP GT2 cam, LDS w/3.73 gears and SLP CAI. How much improvement do you think ill make on that 10.90 bone stock wih high miles? Any help would be greatly appreciated

UH NO, the the GT3 cam was designed for the strocker kit!!
    read the info

I dont give a dam what you say. I dont believe you ran a 10.90 bone stock in the 1/4 quarter mile.
    maybe in the 1/8.. yeah

So is the stroker kit and my other future mods a practical street car to run at the track every now and then? or would it just be better to put the GT2 cam in with the other mods? I just wanna hit 9's in an 1/8th N/A and Ill be happy

GT2 is very streetable. Good lope at low RPM, but no drivability problems.

If you have 3.08s now, just focus on the gears first. That alone will make a huge difference.

9s in the 1/8 is easily attainable without the need for super-expensive engine buildups. That's only like a 15.5 in the 1/4.

Focus on the basics before considering the need for expensive engine mods.

If he wants to run the GT2 with his kit, that's fine. The car's not gonna explode because it wasn't originally designed for the stroker kit.

Ok thanks alot man. Ill probably just go with the GT2 cam, 3.73's and SLP CAI. Will the 3.73's alone help if I dont go with an LSD? or is it better with the LSD?

You'll have to get a new differential because you've got a series 2 carrier now. Start some searching in the drivetrain section.

Do you even have the exhaust done?

The gears alone will put you well into the 9s.

It sounds like you've got tons of work to do before considering internal engine work. You really have no need for a cam. Stick with the basics (intake/exhaust, gears, shift kit, etc) before working on the engine.

Ok i see. Yea ive got ehaust not full exhaust just the muffler with dual outlets. The only reason I was going to go ahead and do a cam was because my cars at about 130,000 miles now and i was just gonna go through and freshen it all up and do it while i was at it. So you think me changing to LSD and 3.73 alone will put me in the 9's?

Unless you're going to completely rebuild it, that would just end up putting more stress on the motor.

if you were going to dump the $ into the strocker, might as well get the cam designed for it.
                      either is streetable
