I remembered you were putting in that 200/206 cam. Just wanted to see if it was in yet and what you thought about it.

i don't have my car back yet. i checked with my mechanic today and he said it was going to be ready by wednesday-friday next week :(
he said they were porting the heads to match with the cam.
i'll let you know as soon i get her back.
by the way total $$$$ invested in this rebuild including taxes was $3874,96.
i'll included a detailed list of whatever his doing on the engine(he said he's so eager to see the specs too ), plus a sound file, and the dyno numbers. perhaps i'll take her to the track for the first time , cause now i need to know how it would perform after all the money i've put on her.

maybe, but i live in california and the law here is so crazy :(
anyways my idea now is to keep the car for 4 to 6 months, enjoy her as much as i can, then sell it and get another car.
in the meantime i just though it was going to be cool to get the v6 the way i always wanted
the replacement for next year
first option: 2000 camaro
second option: 1969 camaro
if the money allow me
2000 corvette
2004 Mitsubishi evo 8
2004 Subaru wrx sti
as you see i have a lot to think, and some money to save for the corvette or the little bangers. :cool:2003 Mustang Mach 1 5 Speed
288 rwhp SAE 315 rwtq SAE
BFG DR\'s, SLP Loudmouth Catback, K&N CAI
60\': 2.145
13.41@105.67MPH (Stock)
--- Best et ----
60: 1.932
1/4:12.851@106.39MPH
best mph: 107.65

lol me 2. I was also thinking of using this cam. I'll be curious to see how much of a differnce can be felt.
I wonder if we could use a hyerptech PP3 with it, and one of those 1/2 inch intake spacers? Would that help or hurt? Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

i finally got my car back.
so the first thing i noticed no ses light
the second thing i can really tell the diference now, even my wife asked me about the new rumble . i mean for me is perfect. at idle no hard core chop but a beatifull mellow sound.
i haven't try her hard cause the mechanic said to wait 500 miles, but i was reving her to 3000-3500 rpm's and that raspy flowmaster sound is gone. i mean my car used to be raspy at about 3000 rpm and up.
they did a complete rebuild, bore and stroke cylinders(don't know the specs, reading from invoice so is like a doctor recipe ), got new pistons and ring set, comp cam #76-801-9, the comp valve springs #26918-12 an the retainers #774-12,new timing chain, oil pump, new lifters, bearings, used heads(were ported to match the cam),complete valve job, etc.
also i have the comp cam specs
part# 76-801-9
Engine: BV6 3800 Steel Semi
Grind # GM38 255HR12
intake exhaust
Valve Adjustment HYD HYD
Gross Valve Lift .517 .498
Duration at
.006 Tappet Lift 255 262
Valve Timing Open Close
at .006 INT: 7- BTDC 27 ABDC
EXH: 38 BBDC 13- ATOC
these specs are for cam installed
at 108 Intake Center Line
Intake Exhaust
Duration at .050 201 205
lobe lift .3120 .3000
lobe Separation 112.0
so far is all i can say cause as i said before i need to wait 500 miles :( , so i won't have the oportunity to have some smoke coming from the rear tires until then.
