    What is hands down the BEST Short Block v8 ( that fits in 98 - 02 Camaro/Firebird ) that money can buy? And where can I find one?

          It does kinda depend on what you are wanting to do. if you want to just buy a crate motor and not have to do anything else get a 427ls1 from someone. do you want to go all motor or power adder. If you want to buy a motor and build it up these are some of you best options: if you dont mind spending the money the ls1 is great do to its light weight and performance potential. if you want to save a little money the LQ4 is a good, its basically a cast iron ls1 with a little more displacement. an LT1 is also good.

              no offense but a c5r block is really a waste of money imho. sure its a little stronger and keeps cool a little better but not worth the extra money.

                but if you have got the money why not go for a c5r block, nuthin will beat it...(speaking figuratively) look into 402 to 427 ZL-1's (or is it ZR-1's)
