Two seperate questions, one is for magnus: You got the intake ported and polish by SSM? How much did it cost, and are you happy with the results? Second, I think my car runs a little rich (My exhaust tips are a little black inside) So, would doing the IAT mod help? Also earlier they were talking about the resistance in the IAT. My Haynes manual says the sensor ranges from 2,700 OHMS at 70 degrees to 240 OHMS at 190 degrees. So wouldn't it be useless or even screw up the E/PCM to go over a 2,700 OHM resistor? Or will it actually trick the CPU into thinking its under 70 degrees by adding even more resistance?

tricks pcm into thinking air is colder than 70 deg.
the ck engine light will not come on unless the iat sensor is showing -37degF and the engine is warmer than 140degF.
most iat modules you find will give you a constant 34-36degF reading.ASE Master, L1, X1, C1. Instructor in automotive systems. 99 3800 4L60E with a few mods and a greatful dead sticker on the back window.

I did my own intake porting.
I used the resistor mod back in the day but now I have the MAFT+ to increase my timing.
If you go over the OHMS, it will show a cooler reading, no harm should be done.
This mod will help you if it does give you advance without any knock retard. The best way to check is use an autotap and do some logs.
In the hot summer though, it has more potential to slow you down because with a hotter intake temp, too much advance will definately leed to KR.
