  • Forged crank?

I found an eagle forged crank made from 4340 steel on Jegs. I have seen folks here asking about stroker kits, and wanting a forged crank in some cases. Would this crank work for a forged one?

    Buick 3.8L
    Part number: 356-423134005967
    Buick 3.8L Forged Steel Crankshaft,
    3.400'' Stroke
    5.967'' Rod Length
    Internal Balance

    Hope that helps.

It is for a series 1. My dad is an Eagle dealer and believe me that i've looked into it before. They dont make one. But I am not sure of the differences between the two , it might work, but most likely not.

our stock crank is good for like 600hp stock though so unless you plan on going over 500 i wouldnt worry about it.

I have heard that before, that the stocker was good to around 500-600. So why do folks look for forged? Who is building that big of a V6?

they look for forged cause the stroker kit. they grind the stock crank and it makes it vary week and can not handle the power.... I'm not even looking at a forged crank and the 10.1 sec FWD GTP is still on the stock crank pushing 20PSI and like 670 crank HP. (more now but there not posting any numbers)
