  • texas speed mail order tuning

im looking into getting my pcm custom tuned from texas speed, i have a cold air intake from SLP, pacesetter headers, high flow converter, magnaflow cat back exhaust, and will be getting 3.42 gears and LSD. What else can be tuned on my pcm, or what else should i ask them to tune? Also i bought an extra pcm from a 97 A4 v6 camaro to be custom tuned, will i be able to have this pcm tuned for my car a 97 firebird A4 v6.Wanted to get some feedback from u guys before i gave texas speed a call. thanks

Yea your extra PCM will work just fine for the tuning. Just unplug your original one and plug the tuned one into your car and you are all set.

I used to be into hondas, especially turbo ones so i know how much a properly tuned pcm can help out a nice car. But honestly how much power might we be able to pick up with a midly modded car. In my mind midly modded would be either intake, header, cat, exhuast and that set up or add a cam. Honestly had uneffecient are the stock PCMS? Are we honestly going to be able to pick up 10 wrwhp?

You will see about a 10 rwhp/tq gain with the tuned pcm on a intake exhaust car. plus, they will correct the gears for you. You can also get them to adjust the shift points for your A4 and increase the line pressure making your car a bit more fun to drive.

I have a 97 A4 tuned by TSP and I would say it is well worth it.

Do a search for an old thread on the sponsor's section. I posted dyno results from several cars in there...and I think some other left more feedback as well.

On an auto car, you will notice a real nice gain just from turning off/down the torque management! and then all the other goodies make for a great mod!

And, we do that too. We were doing that before the PowerTunr (andHPTuners for that matter) was out.

are the tuners hard to use? owning one is only 65$ more than having it custom tuned. cant you do the same things, but whenever you want?
does the mail order allow for multiple sendbacks?

Yes, but you have to know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing it's a waste of time.

$65 less, and you get the tune done by a professional who has tuned literally hundreds of F-body cars...

Nope, they do updates just like everyone else for free. Call Jason at TSP and ask him about all the details...he'll be glad to talk with you about it, eve if you're not ready to do it yet.
