Im not planning on actually doing a swap but I have a question on it.
My friend said that he read somewhere that an LT1 or LS1 wont fit in the v6 camaros. Due to the firewall being different. Im not sure how true it is but i just thought id ask.
95 black 3.8 camaro, Intake, Pacesetters, Flowmaster 80 series, accel plugs and wires, B&M shift kit (eh could be better), hopefully a highflow cat soon. and a bunch of appearance mods.
There are some significant wiring issues if you're crossing over from an LT-1 year to an LS-1 setup and vice versa. Even from a 98 to a 99+ within the LS-1 years.
how hard was it to do your conversion?
I remember reading somewhere that most people have a problem with the Tach reading properly, after doing a swap.

Not too bad actually. I went 98 to 98. The wiring was pretty much plug and play. I had to jumper one wire. By using a 97 vette fuel rail I was able to use my fuel lines too. All the dash and chassis harness wiring stayed the same. I needed a v8 cluster. V8 radiator and hoses. V8 springs. No issue with the tach.
Oh yeah, pcm and engine harness is needed. And you need all the belt driven accessories (alt, starter, a/c, p/s, water pump) and the accessory brackets. And the tranny of course. Engine k-member, and tranny cross-member.
thats awesome im going to keep this option (engine swap) in mind.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
