Our engines can't be bored out much more than they already are. It's not a worth while mod from what I was told. It's not worth paying $100's for 5 hp is it? That's why nobody has done it.

yeah, but look what he plans to do to his car. with everything he list (except for the rksport headers) he is talking serious power. might as well bore it out while doing everything else.

check specs to make sure you don't get too close to water jacket. pushing that much power could crack a block if bored too much. i don't have a blueprint of block available so i can't tell you how much would be too much... also remember that with all the mods you're planning, as well as boring, you are going to change the entire powerband of the engine. yes it will make much more tq and hp but you need to make sure you will be making peak numbers exactly where you want them in the powerband.
just wanted to mention this, i'm sure you have considered it...

From what I have read perviousely, boring our engine .010" is worth 1 cubic inch. Is it worth it?

Do you know how much more bottom end torque? about 20 to 50 ft lbs more. and for the future mods its not a bad idea. :D

it could probably go that far...but if hes gonna do Nitrous and a Blower those cylinder walls are gonna be thin as a mofo. it MIGHT handle the blower...but the nitrous...i honestly DOUBT it would handle both. if he only goes .010 it COULD work...but nobody knows for sure. nobody to my knowledge has done it.

Im going to get it double resleeved back to 3.8 or a little bigger though so the water jacket is no problemo. :D

he is going to put cylinders of most likely iron in the cylinders. hm don't know if that will help you that much. Ok say you have a cylinder of metal that is thin and want to make it stronger well you could put one more cylinder inside of it to make it stronger. That would be what he means.

If you're really set on doing this then you must have enough money for a before and after dyno.

I doubt you'll get much power out of it. As Keith said, only 1 cubic inch or so.

I'll get around to doing the math hopefully this weekend.
